Jim Hyde, MA

Jim is the Police Chief for the Antioch Police Department. His 30 years of law enforcement experience include the Novato, Sacramento, Davis and Antioch Police Departments. Chief Hyde holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Dakota and a MA degree in Clinical Psychology from the Professional School of Psychology, Sacramento. He is a graduate of the Senior Management Institute for Police sponsored by the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University and the Police Executive Research Forum. 

Chief Hyde is a certified Executive Coach and a doctoral student studying Organizational Psychology. Chief Hyde was the co-coordinator of the Sacramento Police Department's Peer Support Program for 20 years. He has taught and developed peer support programs for law enforcement personnel throughout California. He is a member of the Sacramento Regional CISD Team and the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. 

Chief Hyde is currently providing trauma recovery consulting to the California National Guard by developing a Peer Support Program for troops deploying to and returning from the Middle East. Jim is also one of the original founding members of the West Coast Post-trauma Retreatsm .
