Ellen Kirschman, PhD

Ellen is a clinical psychologist, consultant, and trainer with over thirty years experience working with public safety personnel, their agencies, and their families. She is the author I Love a Cop: What Police Families Need to Know,   I Love a Fire Fighter: What the Family Needs to Know, and lead author of Counseling Cops: What Clinicians Need to Know. Her debut novel, Burying Ben - a Dot Meyerhoff Mystery, features a police psychologist. Ellen is co-founder of  

Ellen is the recipient of the American Psychological Association's (Division 18) 2010 Award for Outstanding Contribution to Police and Public Safety Psychology and the California Psychological Associations 2014 award for Distinguished Contribution to Psychology. Dr. Kirschman has been volunteering at the FRSN retreat and SOS retreat for over five years and is on the advisory board for Safe Call Now.
